Commentary
(C): Nach Reynolds handelt es sich um die cohors II Hispanorum scutata Cyrenaica, die im Jahr 159 in Dacia Porolissensis belegt (CIL XVI 110) und wahrscheinlich identisch mit der cohors II Hispanorum ist. Datierung: augusteisch, julisch-claudische Zeit. Reynolds vermutet aufgrund dieser und 2 weiterer Inschriften (AE 1983, 941 und 942), die sie in die augusteische bzw. julisch-claudische Zeit datiert, daß die Kohorte anläßlich der Kriege gegen die Marmariden in augusteischer Zeit (vermutlich 20 v. Chr., vgl. Groag, RE IV A 1 (1931) 826) nach Cyrene kam. (B): Z. 3: Hispanorum statt Hispanor(um). M. Le Glay sieht in der Kohorte die cohors I Hispanorum equitata.
